About the author

Chad Bishop is the prep sports do-it-aller for the Bowling Green Daily News in Bowling Green, Ky. A 2006 graduate of Georgia Southern University (B.A. English) in Statesboro, Ga., Chad is also the former sports editor of the Statesboro Herald.

An Atlanta native, Chad graduated from Brookwood High School in Snellville, Ga., in 2001. He began his current stint with the BGDN in August of 2009.

  1. Warren Central High School will induct eight legendary athletes/coaches into the first Athletic Hall of Fame on January 22 at 6:00 in the school auditorium. They include:
    David Crowe-former principal and athletic director
    Clemette Haskins-1983 KY Miss Basketball, member of state championship team, All-American at WKU
    SeSe Helm-Leading scorer in WCHS history with over 3,000 points, starred at UK
    Damon Hood-1990 KY Mr. Football, member of 2 state finalist teams
    Joe Hood-Former football coach and AD, 2 state finalist teams
    Vanous Lloyd-327 career victories as Lady Dragon coach, state championship in 1983
    Kelly Johnson Reynolds-1995 KY Miss Softball, led WCHS to state final 6
    Tim Riley-Current boys basketball coach, 7 regional championships, state title in 2004, runner up in 2005
    Tickets for the banquet are $10 and can be purchased at home basketball games, the WCHS office or by contacting Todd Steward, athletic director
