According to coach Rick Wood, Glasgow tight end Hunter Bowles has scholarship offers to play football at Marshall and Murray State.
Bowles, at 6-foot-6, 245 pounds, caught 23 balls for 349 yards and six scores in 2010. According to Rivals.com, the senior is also being courted by Kentucky, Louisville, Notre Dame, Mississippi State, Ohio State, South Alabama, Tennessee and Western Kentucky.

Courtney Smith

According to Greenwood volleyball coach Holly Whittinghill, outside hitter Courtney Smith has given a verbal commitment to play for Morehead State.
Smith, a rising senior at GHS, was the Region 4 Player of the Year tallying more than 560 kills and 300 digs, serving up nearly 100 aces and posting nearly 40 blocks.

Joe Manley

Bowling Green High offensive lineman Joe Manley will make his college of choice known Thursday, July 14, the senior confirmed Wednesday at BGHS before working out with his team.

The 6-foot-6, 315-pound guard will decide between the University of Kentucky, University of Louisville and Vanderbilt University.

“I don’t want to worry about recruiting when I’m going into football season,” he said.

According to the Internet scouting website Rivals.com, Manley had offers from the three aforementioned schools, Illinois and his hometown institution of Western Kentucky. Illinois didn’t make the final cut and WKU was crossed off the list because Manley said he’s ready for a change of scenery.

“I wanted to kind of get out of town,” he said. “Those three schools (UofL, UK and Vandy) are not a long distance away from home, but they’re far away enough to be away from home and close enough to be able to get home when I want to get home.”

The Bowling Green offense rushed for over 2,200 yards and threw for over 1,500 in 2010. Manley was an integral part of that on the right side of the offensive line. His recruitment started in earnest in the spring of 2010 and he said his favorite part was being invited to all the college football games.

Manley attended a camp Monday evening at Vanderbilt where he said he really likes the academics. He said all three schools are, “rising programs and they all three play in good conferences.”

“It’s been fun,” he added. “I g0t to meet all the coaches and go to all the programs. Got to a see a lot of things.”

Beck Pennington

Greenwood tennis star Beck Pennington says he has taken visits to the University of Kentucky and the University of Louisville thus far. And while not many other schools have shown serious interest, that is likely to change.
Pennington is currently ranked as the top player in the state of Kentucky and the ranked 53rd in the nation. He’s also just a junior.
He said he would really just like to play anywhere in the SEC.

Kelsi Pardue, Allison Pedigo

Allen County-Scottsville head softball coach Rick Roberts said Wednesday that his junior pitcher Kelsi Pardue has verbally committed to play for Western Kentucky in 2013.

Pardue went 24-8 in 2010 with an ERA of 0.001 ERA, striking out 284 hitters in 181 innings pitched during the regular season.

Pardue’s teammate, senior outfielder Allison Pedigo, will attend the College of Charleston and try to walk on for the Lady Cougars. Pedigo hit .367 with 14 RBIs last season.

South Warren senior Jared Skrabacz will sign a letter of intent Thursday to run cross country at Loyola of Chicago.
Skrabacz was the 2010 state champion in Kentucky’s Class 2A.

Cody Stumbo

South Warren’s Cody Stumbo is a late bloomer when it comes to playing college basketball. But the senior’s stellar season with the Spartans has colleges taking notice of his play.
Stumbo, averaging 22 points and 7 rebounds, said he’s been contacted by Georgetown College, Brescia, Alice Lloyd and Austin Peay.
Stumbo said he won’t likely chose any school until this summer.

Demonte Smith

Warren Central Demonte Smith has committed to play football for Georgetown College in the fall.
Smith rushed for 1,033 yards and 12 touchdowns this past season for the Dragons.

Zoe Sibalich

Bowling Green girls’ head coach Lavonda Johnson says her senior guard Zoe Sibalich is definitely considering playing college basketball.
Sibalich, who scored 32 points in her latest effort Tuesday night, is being mostly pursued by Transylvania University in Lexington. Sibalich is also considering walking on at Western Kentucky, according to Johnson.

Behanan has turf toe

Bowling Green senior Chane Behanan has a mild case of turf toe, according to his coach D.G. Sherrill.

Behanan was in street clothes on Tuesday night during his team’s win over South Warren. The Louisville signee is wearing a boot on his left foot.

Sherrill said the senior is day-to-day.
